Dr. Hesham Talab, MD, PhD, FRCPC, FASE
Dr. Talab successfully completed his Anesthesia residency training at University of Toronto, followed by his fellowship training in Vascular Anesthesia, Thoracic Anesthesia, & Perioperative Echocardiography at the University of Ottawa. His extensive training at both the University of Toronto and the University of Ottawa underscore his dedication to specialization and expertise in his field.
Dr. Talab is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and the American Society of Echocardiography, and is recognized as an Anesthesia mentor for The American Society of Anesthesiology. Dr. Talab is currently an assistant professor of Anesthesiology at University of Ottawa with special interest in teaching and medical education. These accolades reflect Dr. Talab's standing in the medical community, and highlight his proficiency and contributions to his specialty.
In 2017, Dr. Talab began to explore new avenues within his field to serve a broader range of patients’ needs. He started providing anesthesia at multiple outpatient facilities in Ottawa for an array of dental procedures in both adult and pediatric patients.
Dr. Asad Mirghassemi, MD, FRCPC, MScHQ
Dr. Mirghassemi is a distinguished anesthesiologist with extensive expertise in providing general anesthesia and sedation for both pediatric and adult patients. After completing his anesthesiology residency at the University of Ottawa in 2016, he pursued a fellowship in perioperative echocardiography, solidifying his dedication to patient care and safety.
In 2017, Dr. Mirghassemi began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at Queen’s University, contributing significantly to medical education. He later joined the University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital in 2018, where he continued to advance his clinical, educational, and research pursuits in anesthesia.
His commitment to improving healthcare quality inspired him to earn a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Quality from Queen’s University, further enhancing his focus on patient safety and clinical excellence.
For nearly a decade, Dr. Mirghassemi has specialized in anesthesia for dental procedures, particularly in outpatient pediatric dental facilities. His dedication to ensuring the safety and comfort of pediatric patients has established him as a trusted expert in this field.
As an integral part of SediCare, Dr. Mirghassemi combines his vast experience with a compassionate approach, offering tailored sedation and general anesthesia solutions to meet the unique needs of each patient. His work exemplifies the highest standards of care in dental anesthesia for both children and adults.
Dr. Christopher Harty, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Harty is a dedicated anesthesiologist with a strong commitment to both clinical practice and medical education. He completed his MD at Memorial University in 2017 and earned his specialty certification in Anesthesiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in 2021. Dr. Harty further advanced his expertise by participating in the Healthcare Education Scholars Program at the University of Ottawa in 2022.
In addition to his clinical work as a staff anesthesiologist at The Ottawa Hospital, Dr. Harty is deeply involved in medical education. He serves as a Lecturer at the University of Ottawa, where he contributes to training the next generation of healthcare professionals. Dr. Harty is also the Oral Exam Director for the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, University of Ottawa, and the Unit 1 Anglophone Lead for Undergraduate Medical Education at the university.
Through his diverse roles in clinical practice, education, and leadership, Dr. Harty is committed to improving patient care and advancing the field of anesthesiology in both academic and practical settings.
Dr. Naguib Farag, MD
Dr. Naguib Farag is a highly experienced anesthesiologist with over 25 years of expertise in anesthesia. After completing his initial medical training in Egypt, he pursued advanced fellowship training at both the University of Ottawa and the University of Toronto, specializing in paediatric, perioperative, and ambulatory anesthesia.
Dr. Farag has provided exceptional care to patients across Canada, serving in various provinces, including New Brunswick and Ontario. Known for his dedication and commitment, he is highly respected by both his patients and colleagues for his compassionate approach and clinical excellence.
